Ray Mielbrecht and the Sportmen's Club hosted today's tournament. It's nice to have an alternate place to play when there is a schedule conflict at the Vashon Eagles. THANKS! EDITH PAYNE got dragged out of her warm house at the last minute to play with us (so we would have an even number of players.) She was rewarded with FIRST PLACE! Edith finished the day with an impressive 15 Game Points. And notice the THREE skunks she inflicted on some of us. Ouch! CINDY GRENVILLE finished in SECOND PLACE, just a few spread points ahead of HARLEY MIEDEMA who had to settle for THIRD PLACE. RAY MIELBRECHT and JULIA BICK just missed earning their Grass Roots Points this week. Better luck next week! The FIRST 24-HAND was scored by JULIA BICK, but she and several other players were unable to contain THE CHICKEN, which ended the day in EDITH PAYNE's hands. CINDY GRENVILLE scored a Raggedy Ann (6-7-8-A-A) and cleaned out the RAGGEDY JULIA pot. (Cindy said she didn't even realize she had a Raggedy Ann until she counted her hand and it added up to 13 points, and that clued her in that it might be worth some money.) Nobody scored a 2-4-6-8-10 today, so the DIRECTOR'S AWARD will be worth $15 next week! Unless you hear otherwise, assume we will be playing back at the Vashon Eagles next Saturday!
