We have a correction to the announced awards after today’s tournament.
We awarded the SKUNK POT to STEVE WENNSTROM, when, in fact, RUTH ADAMS should have received that honor. An honest mistake was made adding up Ruth’s minus points. As you can see above, Ruth is the actual winner of today’s SKUNK POT....but only by ONE POINT! (I’m sure Steve will gladly turn that honor, and the quarters, over to Ruth.) I also want to mention the pleasant visit we had from ELIZABETH STREETER today. Elizabeth is no stranger to our club, and we always enjoy her company! FOR THE RECORD: Nobody scored a 24-hand today, so THE CHICKEN got a well deserved rest today, and the FIRST 24-HAND went unclaimed. TUCKER LAZARE did get a 28-HAND, so we awarded THE CHICKEN pot to Tucker. (Check out his picture on our home page.) RAY MIELBRECHT held a 6-7-8-A-A and emptied out the RAGGEDY JULIA pot. Nobody held a 6-7-8-2-2, so the RAGGEDY ANDY went unclaimed. KAREN KIEL held the “THIRD” FLUSH-RUN of the day and took the DIRECTOR’S AWARD. The reason she got it for the “THIRD” one was because ELIZABETH STREETER scored TWO of them before Karen, but visitors aren’t eligible for the DIRECTOR’S AWARD. Sorry Elizabeth! :-(

DAVE McCOY emptied out the SKUNK POT Nobody held a flush-run, so the DIRECTOR’S AWARD went unclaimed. And the RAGGEDY ANDY went unclaimed. We acknowledged HARLEY MIEDEMA and KIM LAZARE as well as ROBIN KING for their PERFECT ATTENDANCE during the 2nd Quarter. Even though ROBIN KING didn’t play in every tournament, she showed up every week just in case we were short a player....and for that....we really appreciate you ROBIN! We celebrated RUTH ADAMS’s 86th birthday with cake provided by her daughters Nancy and Sue.
And look who ended the day at the TOP of the chart! We all wish you many more years of picking our pockets Ruth! We also welcomed our very own RAY MIELBRECHT back! Ray has been absent for many weeks while his wife recuperated. FOR THE RECORD: AL DeCARO scored the FIRST 24-HAND MIKE SUDDUTH ended the day holding THE CHICKEN KIM LAZARE emptied out the SKUNK POT Nobody got the DIRECTOR’S AWARD, which is a FLUSH-RUN. (Next week we’ll ease up a little and allow a 4-card flush-run in the hand.) And the RAGGEDY JULIA and RAGGEDY ANDY will both roll over to next week. SPECIAL NOTE: A reminder that Ken Larson’s 5th grade class will be learning to play cribbage at Chautauqua Elementary at 2:30 next Friday. Ken would love to have you join him to help teach the kids the GREAT game of CRIBBAGE! I took first place today, but to be honest....Kim beat me today in our 9th and final game of the day.
