We had the pleasure of playing at the South End Community Club today. For the record: STEVE WENNSTROM cleaned out the RAGGEDY JULIA pot The FIRST 24-HAND went to STEVE WENNSTROM AL DeCARO went home with THE CHICKEN and nobody claimed the DIRECTOR'S AWARD (6-7-8-2-2) It seemed like one of those days of extremes. ROBIN KING pummeled all of her opponents except KATHARINE GOLDING. And poor RUTH ADAMS couldn't buy a win to save her soul (except against STEVE WENNSTROM) For the record: Oops...I forgot to write down who scored the FIRST 24-HAND. It might have been KURT LYSEN. (somebody write and let me know please) Guest NOEL EBY found himself holding THE CHICKEN at the end of the day. Nobody scored a Raggedy Andy (6-7-8-2-2), so the DIRECTOR'S AWARD will grow next week. And nobody scored a 6-7-8-A-A, so the RAGGEDY JULIA also grows next week. Next week.....we will NOT be playing at the Vashon Eagles. Instead, we will meet at the South End Community Club in Tahlequah. And remember, we will start a 1/2 hour later than usual....at 1:30.....to allow any drop-ins to find us. For the record: Once again, I claimed the FIRST 24-HAND And it was none other than Chickenman himself...that's right, HARLEY MIEDEMA...who ended the day holding THE CHICKEN ROBIN KING got to claim today's SKUNK POT Nobody claimed neither the RAGGEDY JULIA nor the DIRECTOR'S AWARD (the Raggedy Andy) |
