KURT LYSEN wins a STRING-OF-PEARLS! (Ouch!) On a positive note, Kurt scored the FIRST 24-HAND and also went home with the SKUNK POT! JULIA BICK ended the day holding THE CHICKEN Nobody scored a RAGGEDY JULIA and nobody held a 23-HAND, so those pots roll over to next week.

FIRST 24-HAND went to ROBIN KING. KURT LYSEN ended the day holding THE CHICKEN. The SKUNK POT went to JULIA BICK. Nobody scored a Raggedy Julia nor a 23. LUCKY 13! Today was March 13th, which turned out to be a lucky day for several players. Today's BIG NEWS! JULIA BICK SCORED A 28-HAND! Visitor JIM ROSEVEARE ended the day with THE CHICKEN in hand and took FIRST PLACE, again unable to claim any Grass Roots Points since only local club members get them recorded. Jim might want to consider transferring his home club to Vashon!? DAVE McCOY ended the day in SECOND PLACE, despite getting skunked TWICE! What I found interesting was....Dave SKUNKED Jim Roseveare. STEVE WENNSTROM got the FIRST 24-HAND and THIRD PLACE! And despite the appearance that RUTH ADAMS didn't have a lucky day, well, today we instituted a new pot. Thanks to Jim Ranstrom for contributing a BULL JAR to the club. The jar is now our official SKUNK POT. All players who are involved in a skunk, whether giving one or getting one, must toss a quarter into the SKUNK POT. The player with the lowest score card of the day gets to go home with the contents of the SKUNK POT in the Bull Jar. And today Ruth received that honor! But nobody held a 23-hand or the Raggedy Julia today. Also want to say THANK YOU to KURT LYSEN for picking up our out-of-town visitor, and returning him to the ferry. TEN brave souls showed up today to play cribbage, despite the fantastic weather outside. It's hard to say if the Cribbage Classes that Ray and I are taking are actually paying off. For me, I finished in FIRST PLACE today, so I'd say they DO pay off. If you haven't checked out the cribbage lessons yet, just go to YouTube.Com and search for "RAS Class" or "Cribbage Class" and you should find 13 lessons for your viewing pleasure. But RAY MIELBRECHT finished in TENTH PLACE today, so I'm not sure he would agree as to the benefits of taking cribbage classes. (The truth is, Ray DOES enjoy going to these classes and has gotten new insights into the game.) It was an exciting finish for SECOND and THIRD place. Only ONE (1) net spread point made all the difference. CONGRATULATIONS to DAVE McCOY for finishing in SECOND PLACE. And congratulations to CINDY GRENVILLE for finishing in THIRD PLACE. RUTH ADAMS and JIM RANSTROM weren't in the money today, but both of them earned GRASS ROOTS POINTS today. RUTH also scored the FIRST 24-HAND today, worth $5. And CINDY GRENVILLE ended the day holding THE CHICKEN. JULIA BICK finished the day with ZERO net spread points! Interesting! |
