WELCOME BACK to our dear friend JULIA BICK! For the record: ROBIN KING held the FIRST 24-HAND, as well as the last 24-hand....and got both CHICKEN POTS. JULIA BICK rightfully held the first 6-7-8-A-A (there were two held today) and emptied out the RAGGEDY JULIA. KURT LYSEN emptied out the SKUNK POT and NOBODY held a CRIB FLUSH, so the DIRECTOR'S AWARD grows to $15 next week. A NEW PRIZE POT? Today the group discussed adding an additional prize pot to the mix. Some suggested it could be the RAGGEDY ANDY (6-7-8-2-2), but I suggested maybe a hand determined by the winner of the pot. We would raise the weekly entry fee to $10 which would include the RAGGEDY JULIA and this new prize pot. I would be interested in hearing from those of you who weren't present today. How do you feel about the idea? Is the entry fee too high already? Another way to fund it would be to lower the weekly payout for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Email me if you have any thoughts on the matter. Today we were treated to a wonderful venue for cribbage playing. The kind folks at the Vashon Community Care Center welcomed us warmly, and we truly appreciate their fine hospitality! For the record: LORI MISENAR scored the FIRST 24-HAND AL DeCARO scored a RAGGEDY JULIA (6-7-8-A-A) MIKE SUDDUTH (that's ME!) was the one holding THE CHICKEN at the end of the day and DENNIS MISENAR emptied out the SKUNK POT Nobody held a CRIB FLUSH, so the DIRECTOR'S AWARD will be worth $10 next week And next week we return to the Vashon Eagles. (My apologies to any players that I failed to notify about our venue change today!) DAVE McCOY got a 28-HAND! Way to go Dave! For the record: KURT LYSEN held the FIRST 24-HAND CINDY GRENVILLE held a TRIPLE RUN, which got her the DIRECTOR'S AWARD. Cindy won't be with us next week, so she has selected a CRIB FLUSH as the next specialty hand for this award. RAY MIELBRECHT ended the day holding THE CHICKEN KURT LYSEN held a 6-7-8-A-A and emptied out the RAGGEDY JULIA pot. And yours truly emptied out the SKUNK POT We won't hold any grudges against those of you who stayed home today and enjoyed one of the rare dry days here in the northwest. We got to welcome WILL GOLDING back. He is in town for a brief visit with his mother Katharine. A fair cribbage player indeed, just like his mom, you can see below how Will did today. Come again the next time you're in town Will! And earning her very first GRASS ROOTS POINTS, DANA LAZARE ended the day with a very nice scorecard! We wish you many more grass roots points in the future Dana! For the record: DAVID HOFFMANN did a real number on the specialty hands today. He claimed the FIRST 24-HAND, the DIRECTOR'S AWARD, and was holding THE CHICKEN at the end of the day. The only thing he left unclaimed was the RAGGEDY JULIA. Well, that's not quite accurate. HARLEY MIEDEMA emptied out the SKUNK POT. |
