Today we kicked off the second half of the season with a VERY FANCY table cover, courtesy of KIM LAZARE. Thanks Kim!
For the record: RUTH ADAMS scored the first FOUR OF A KIND and claimed this week's DIRECTOR'S AWARD. She actually had another 4-of-a-kind later in the day! DAVE McCOY scored the FIRST 24-HAND and was still holding THE CHICKEN at the end of the day. STEVE WENNSTROM not only claimed the RAGGEDY JULIA (6-7-8-A-A), he managed to spoil a Grand Slam for me......again! And the SKUNK POT went to KURT LYSEN this week. We set a club record for the number of guests present. We enjoyed the company of THREE great cribbage players: Tucker Lazare, Emory Miedema-B and Michael Henderson. Hurry back guys!
For the record: KIM LAZARE scored the FIRST 24-HAND TUCKER LAZARE scored a RAGGEDY ANDY (6-7-8-2-2) and claimed the DIRECTOR'S AWARD STEVE WENNSTROM scored a RAGGEDY JULIA (6-7-8-A-A) and RAY MIELBRECHT ended the day holding THE CHICKEN, which had been flying around the place like a chicken with its head chopped off! RUTH ADAMS scored a 28-HAND today! And, of course, that hand also gave her a 4-of-a-Kind, giving her the DIRECTOR'S AWARD as well.
For the second week in a row, THE CHICKEN has gone unclaimed. It will be worth $15 next week! Your's truly cleaned out the RAGGEDY JULIA today, worth $34. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: This coming Monday, 5th grade teacher Ken Larsen is starting up another cribbage class at school, and could use some volunteers to help him. If you have the time, it's a wonderful way to give back to our cribbage community. Let me know if you are available and interested in helping. For the record:
Nobody scored the Raggedy Julia (6-7-8-A-A), and nobody scored a 24 hand. The DIRECTOR'S AWARD (4-of-a-Kind) went unclaimed as well. KATHARINE GOLDING went home with the SKUNK POT |
