CONGRATULATIONS to JULIA BICK for taking 1st Place in yesterday's tournament! Julia ended the day winning 7 out of 9 games and earned 15 game points, which included one skunk. The top four finishers were: 1st Place Julia Bick 2nd Place Edith Payne 3rd Place Arlyn Teed 4th Place Midge Grace I found it interesting that Midge won her match against Arlyn, Arlyn won her match against Edith, and Edith won her match against Julia. Jodi Scanlon won two very close games that were both decided by just 4 points. That's fun and exciting cribbage! The closest game of the day was between Edith and Victoria Scanlon. That game, which ended in Edith's favor, left Victoria just one point away from victory! It doesn't get any closer than that! Kim Lazare followed a consistent and interesting pattern of wins and losses: W L W L W L W L W Kim also managed to spoil Frank Erickson's "string of pearls". My thanks to all of you for attending yesterday's event. Mike p.s. Although we were successful at completing all nine games, we only had three players who were Grass Roots members, so this tournament will not be considered "official". (A minimum of 6 Grass Roots players is required for an official tournament.) Maybe next year? If you're interested in joining the American Cribbage Congre ss and their Grass Roots programs, just let me know. And as I mentioned yesterday, we will continue to play over the summer. I hope to see you on June 2nd. 2 pm at the Vashon Library. ms
