In my rush to get things wrapped up at the end of each tournament, I fail to cross-check score sheets. And this week it bit me! In our seventh game, Ray Mielbrecht and I both claimed a win and initialled each other's scorecard. Those points put me in 1st place and Ray in 2nd place. But according to the rules: "If both cards record a win, both cards are changed to losses" So that left CINDY GRENVILLE in 1st, new-comer DEREK SMITH in 2nd, and I got bumped down to 3rd. (I'll square up with you two next Saturday.) And poor Ray not only dropped out of the money, he also lost his Grass Roots points. Ouch! KATHARINE GOLDING wasn't in the money today, but she did earn another 12 Grass Roots points. Way to go Katharine! A warm WELCOME to our newest member of the club, DEREK SMITH. (We had Derek hooked early on when he scored a CRIB FLUSH and won the $10 DIRECTOR'S AWARD.) As you can tell from the day's results, he will make a fine addition to our club. And a warm WELCOME BACK to EDITH PAYNE! As mentioned last week, Edith helps keep us in balance. (And if you have any doubt about how balanced Edith is, check out her net spread points this week!) I'm not sure why Kurt Lysen and Arlyn Teed ended up at the bottom of the list this week. They scored the only two 24-hands of the day. Kurt scored the FIRST 24-HAND and Arlyn scored the last one. Nobody claimed the RAGGEDY JULIA, so that pot starts out with $
