It's not often that NO CLUB MEMBERS earn Grass Roots Points at our weekly tournament! Well, it happened today!
For the record: We welcomed WALTER WEED back to our club, and we sent him home with enough winnings to cover his ferry fare back to the mainland! DANIEL HAAG held a 6-7-8-A-A and cleaned out the RAGGEDY JULIA Cindy Grenville held the FIRST 24-HAND and also ended the day holding THE CHICKEN No other specialty hands were claimed today! For the record:
We welcomed first time visitor Chuck Breider to our club, and true to form...as a first time visitor...he won enough money to cover his ferry costs back home! Julia Bick held the FIRST 24-HAND Ron Calhoun held a 6-7-8-A-A and cleaned out the RAGGEDY JULIA Kim Lazare ended the day holding THE CHICKEN The oddity of the day was that we had TWO 28-hands...held by Kim Lazare and Stephanie Marotta! My thanks to Kurt Lysen for running things in my absence and to everyone who pitched in to assist him. NOTICE: Next Thursday, September 13th, we return to the Puyallup Fair to help staff the Cribbage Booth in the Hobby Hall. I would like to ask everyone who plans on attending to drop me a confirmation (email, text or phone.) We now return to regular programming! Let me know in advance if you need a ride so we can figure out carpools. I only have room for four passengers in my car...and I won't be returning to the Island, but will be dropping folks off at the ferry dock. So plan to walk onto the 8:00 Southend ferry. If you're going on your own, you should get ahold of me so I can get you your tickets into the Fair. Free parking is provided (in the silver lot). Contact me if you have any questions. |
