Here are the results (below) from last weekend's tournament. Nobody was able to muster up a 24-hand last weekend, so the CHICKEN POT grows to $10. The last player to score a 24-hand tomorrow can claim that prize! And the first person to get a CRIB FLUSH and/or a RAGGEDY ANN will get to claim the $5 prize. JOIN THE FUN! Mike NOTE: The date below is correct, but the YEAR (2007) is incorrect.

Well, first of all, please welcome KAREN KEIL to the group! Karen stopped in today and played in her very first cribbage tournament. And she actually did pretty well...coming in THIRD PLACE! WELCOME KAREN! I hope you'll drop in again real soon! After experiencing a fairly long dry spell, Jim Ranstrom has obviously turned things around as he won himself yet another tournament. CONGRATULATION JIM! Second place went to someone we haven't seen in several weeks. JAY WILLIAMSON took time out on a very nice Saturday afternoon to join in the fun. WAY TO GO JAY! (Try not to be such a stranger!) Nobody could come up with a Raggedy Ann or a Crib Flush today, so we will have two extra $5 specialty pots next week. That was NOT the case with the 24-hands though. That elusive CHICKEN flew the coup on more than one occasion today. Julia Bick was the first one to score a 24-hand and grab the chicken. That put a $5 bill in her pocket. But that rascal Steve Wennstrom stole the chicken from Julia midway through the day and he had hopes of keeping it to claim $5 for the LAST 24-hand of the day, but that sly Arlyn Teed found a way to snag that chicken right out of Steve's hand and she hung onto it for the remainder of the day. CONGRATULATIONS to all of our participants today! If it's Saturday at 1, it's CRIBBAGE at the Eagles! I hope you'll JOIN THE FUN! Mike (206) 930-1379 [email protected] It appears that THE CHICKEN won the POPULAR vote in yesterday's CRIBBAGE CAUCUS. Steve Wennstrom scored the 1st 24-hand of the day and grabbed the chicken. It was UNANIMOUS that we ALL wanted to hold that chicken at the end of the day, but Steve wouldn't let loose of it. He even stole it from himself when he scored a SECOND 24-hand! The Cribbage Caucus process was quite interesting to observe. The room wasn't overly crowded with eight registered participants. We sat down one-on-one to discuss the strength's of our favorite candidate, making convincing cases using pairs, and runs and 15s. Each candidate attempted to come up with at least 121 excellent points to convince his opponent that HE or SHE was the best person to advance to the next level. By the end of the day, it came down to two final candidates vieing for the nomination. Jim Ranstrom and Mike Sudduth were tied at seven games a piece, but it was Arlyn Teed's early argument in support of Jim, when she gave him THREE game points, that tipped the final selection over to JIM RANSTROM. CONGRATULATIONS JIM! WELCOME to Harley Miedema. Harley has been playing with us for quite a while, but yesteday he made it "official" and joined as an ACC and GRASSROOTS member. Harley gave folks a run for their money yesteday, finishing in 4th place! Harley missed earning GrassRoots points yesterday by just ONE point when Ray Mielbrecht left Harley in the stink hole late in the afternoon. And although Julia Bick had a tough day yesterday, with only one win, she managed to hang onto her top standing in total GrassRoots points to-date. (Honorable mention goes to Cindy Grenville for filling in the dummy seat yesterday!) For those of you unable to attend yesterday's Cribbage Caucus, you won't have to wait another year to experience that same excitement. If it's Saturday at 1 pm, it's CRIBBAGE at the Eagles! JOIN THE FUN! Mike (206) 930-1379 [email protected] CONGRATULATIONS to Steve Wennstrom for taking 1st Place today. And Julia Bick came in 2nd place!! Julia pulled into 1st Place in overall ratings points and Steve moved into 3rd place after today's tournament! Arlyn holds the 2nd place slot in overall ratings points! CONGRATULATIONS to you three!! Arlyn also went home with the CHICKEN POT today. She scored the first and last (and ONLY) 24 hand today! Way to go Arlyn!! If it's Saturday at 1 pm, it's CRIBBAGE at the Vashon Eagles. JOIN THE FUN!
